Clear and compelling messaging makes the difference when communicating who you are and what you offer. Words on paper, on a website, or on the vows you speak on your wedding day represent your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Your message comes alive and delivers with intent.

It is more than just words on paper and images on the internet. It is personal. I hope you enjoy the blog posts and learn more about the written word and how it can best speak for you and your business.

Secret Weapon for Startup Websites? A Smart FAQ page!

Jun 18, 2026

I promise, this will not be a long blog read. I hope it helps answer some questions and gets you excited about your business and how to use FAQs to attract prospects.

Many startups and small business owners see FAQs as an afterthought. As content creators, we often hear, “Let’s finish the main pages first, then we can revisit the FAQ.” But here is the twist: a well-designed FAQ page actually does more heavy lifting and engagement than a flashy homepage. It works effectively because it addresses the specific questions your customers and prospects have. When constructed properly, the call-to-action button on the FAQ page is very busy!

FAQs Can Lead to Sales Conversions

(Never to take the place of our spectacular sales team) But think about the last time you almost bought something, then changed your mind at the last moment. You had some questions, and you didn’t feel like hunting for answers. Your audience is the same. A smart FAQ page answers questions, handles objections, clarifies the fine print, and proves you actually understand what it’s like to be in their shoes as a customer.

For startups and small businesses, that’s huge. You don’t always have a sales team or a support desk to respond to every text, social media post, or email. A smart FAQ page works like a 24/7 customer service rep that never gets tired of explaining your process, pricing, timelines, and common questions. When it’s written with purpose, it shortens your sales cycle and makes it super easy for strangers to become customers.

I thought I would share a few easy FAQs as an example of how to format and write them:

Do we really need an FAQ page if our site is small and simple?

Yes, you do, especially if your site is small and simple!

A small and simple site means less room to flex your muscles and talk about pricing, service, and policies. The FAQ page picks up the slack by answering questions that may not fit on your services pages. It allows a curious visitor a no-pressure way to learn about you before they visit you or book a call.

How detailed should our answers be?

Answers to FAQs should be concise and helpful, without being too long to risk losing the reader’s interest. You can include a link to a blog that offers additional information. Keep responses brief, clear, and focused. Providing content that diverts from the user’s question may cause disengagement.

What should actually be on an FAQ page?

I always tell my clients to think of the questions someone would ask when sitting at their desk or on their living room sofa. Address common questions such as service offerings, return policies, locations, and pricing. FAQs that address pricing questions are the most clicked upon. It is up to you whether you disclose your pricing or discuss the products and programs from a features/benefits perspective, along with a link to contact you for a quote.

Won’t people stop contacting us if we answer all questions on the site?

No, actually, the opposite can happen.

A strong and comprehensive FAQ page can screen out visitors who are not prospects and encourage others to reach out. They come to you now better prepared, with some understanding of you and your business, and are ready to talk turkey!

How do we know if the FAQ page is doing its job?

Watch the interactions and questions you receive by email, phone, or the Contact Us page. You can also create a dedicated page for FAQ visitors, and don’t forget the value of Google Analytics. Your customer service and sales teams can also find out whether the people they are speaking to have used the FAQ page by simply asking.

So, Are You Ready to Build an FAQ Page?

Creating a smart FAQ page isn’t a ‘nice to have.’ It is one of the easiest ways to build trust and convert the occasional, just browsing, into new customers. If you are staring at your screen and not sure what to share with customers and prospects, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Schedule a call with me and let’s talk about your FAQs.
