Clear and compelling messaging makes the difference when communicating who you are and what you offer. Words on paper, on a website, or on the vows you speak on your wedding day represent your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Your message comes alive and delivers with intent.

It is more than just words on paper and images on the internet. It is personal. I hope you enjoy the blog posts and learn more about the written word and how it can best speak for you and your business.

Make time for business reading!

Jul 18, 2019

Raise your virtual hand if you receive dozens of messages a day in your inbox and social media accounts. I can’t actually see you, but I can feel the energy in your responses. How about we make time for business reading?

Are you frustrated by these messages? Do you flag them for follow up at a time when you actually have a stretch to read them? Or do they just get buried in your inbox and fall deeper and deeper into the inbox abyss?

What could you do with them?

File them away.

Some of these communications belong in the ‘circular file’ for sure. Some contain valuable information that might help us with our business in some way, shape or form. I created a folder call “Need to Read” and I file these emails in that folder so I can go back on reading day and peruse this budding library of information.

Don’t be so quick to hit delete- file them away for a rainy day.

Build your business IQ for better interactions with clients, vendors, and colleagues.

If you are feeling exceptionally industrious, categorize them. If you have taken the time to subscribe to industry blogs and articles, then you must see the value somewhere in there. These sources can provide treasured information for your business and perhaps even suggest a product or service that you may be able to provide to your clients.

Share them on social media.

It is a big world, but we live in small communities. Why not share what we learn, there is enough business for all of us! Collaborate with each other on projects and the power of many is stronger than a silo of one.

Now that I think of it, got anything to share?

Please use the comments to post and share some great resources that you use for your overall business and/or your industry.

When is your reading day?

Set that reading time aside and do not poach it for something else. Your brain, and your business will thank you.
