We don’t think so.
The holidays are a time to be thankful and spread your happiness and good fortune to your clients, colleagues and vendors. It’s not about the cookies, although we love cookies here at Put Another Way. It’s about the message.
So many clients tell us that they don’t like sending holiday cards. “It’s a waste of time,” they say. And they tell us they don’t know what to say.
Think about it for a minute. What are you attempting to convey to these people and companies? Is it thanks for their business? Are you wishing them good cheer in the upcoming year? Are you making a donation in their name to a local charity and want to share that message?
Answer these questions and you will have your plan set for holiday communications. Whether it is an email holiday card with a dancing snowman, or a Happy New Year postcard in the mail, be thoughtful, be sincere and if at all possible, hand write a note. I have begun to receive some cards and the ones that hang on my wall are from people who know me, address me with a personal touch and sign the card. I love it.
The holidays can be stressful and overwhelming. Turn on some Jingle Bells and get busy. Know your clients, colleagues, and vendors and find the option that best conveys your individual message.
Oh, and cookies truly have a way of hitting that message out of the park! (wink-wink)
