Clear and compelling messaging makes the difference when communicating who you are and what you offer. Words on paper, on a website, or on the vows you speak on your wedding day represent your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Your message comes alive and delivers with intent.

It is more than just words on paper and images on the internet. It is personal. I hope you enjoy the blog posts and learn more about the written word and how it can best speak for you and your business.

Fun Fact #5: Fear of writing?

Mar 27, 2018

Did you know there is such a thing as fear of writing? According to the website fearof.net, both Graphophobia and Scriptophobia exist and are associated with fear of writing in public.

Fears come in all shapes and sizes.  It is common to have a fear of public speaking, but we were surprised to find fear of public writing. Writing is personal, even if it is about your business.  You are putting yourself out there to talk about your business, your business opinions and it opens a tunnel into your thoughts and views.

That’s OK but please don’t be afraid to write.

Find a voice that can highlight your industry knowledge or experiences in a certain business segment.  Write clearly and simply and in a voice that talks to both your clients and your prospects. Please don’t let thoughts into your mind like, “What if someone thinks this topic is foolish?” or “What if I fail and no one reads this?” Experiment with different forms of writing and posting and look at the analytics to see how you are being viewed.  You just may be surprised.

We have found that sometimes people need a little help to get started.  Content writers can help you find a voice that you are comfortable with and a plan that you can sustain going forward.  Content calendars, procuring content from other sources or creating a blog series can provide a pathway for you to continue to add quality content to your site.

If you’d like to find out more, shoot us a quick email at info@putanotherway.com and let’s roll up our sleeves and get you writing!
