Clear and compelling messaging makes the difference when communicating who you are and what you offer. Words on paper, on a website, or on the vows you speak on your wedding day represent your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Your message comes alive and delivers with intent.

It is more than just words on paper and images on the internet. It is personal. I hope you enjoy the blog posts and learn more about the written word and how it can best speak for you and your business.

C’mon, you can say it!

Jun 21, 2019

This morning I attended a wonderful networking event sponsored by the Capital Region Chamber. It is called Network by 9 and it is a type of speed dating/pitching for networkers…..or novice networkers.

I love this event and I am so honored to be the group facilitator for the two rounds of networking. I enjoy meeting people and I love even more to hear about what they do. Yet I find it interesting that we all stumble on the words as we attempt to describe how we spend the better part of our days.

Working.

So, can you relate? Do you stumble a bit when asked to talk about yourself and the job you do and/or passion that gets you up in the morning? Why? You got this!

My company helps people write content for their websites, blogs to showcase their expertise, and sometimes resumes when they are looking for a new challenge. Recently I find myself collaborating with people on just talking about themselves, their business, and passions. Talking is the first step to writing and that collaboration creates beautiful content.

My groups this morning were such fun, I hope they felt the same way. We learned about each other’s businesses and little tidbit of personal information as a bonus. I want to help them grow their businesses and become successful…. maybe even see if they would like to volunteer with the Chamber or join one of our Business Referral Groups (BRG).

Years ago, when I was a young salesperson as LexisNexis in Manhattan, sales trainers and professionals were frequently called up on to assist us with building our selling skills, communication tools, and overall confidence in representing LexisNexis in the legal and professional markets. I learned a great deal from over a dozen of these men and women and all of them had one underlying premise:

Be true to yourself and your belief in your products and services. If you are, the rest will come, naturally. The truth is always the truth.

Now networkers: I want to see you all at the next Chamber event and let’s have some fun. If you need help and want to practice your 2-minute pitch, give me a call anytime, 518.280.6650. My coffee cup is always full and ready
